Buddies for Paws is proud to partner with Wildlife Conservation Network, a global organisation dedicated to saving endangered wildlife by supporting independent conservationists and wildlife organisations. Since 2002, Wildlife Conservation Network has empowered local experts by providing funding, training, and resources, giving them the tools they need to protect wildlife and habitats where they are needed most.

What Wildlife Conservation Network Does

Wildlife Conservation Network supports conservation programs across the globe, protecting animals both on land and in the water. Their approach is unique in the conservation world. They partner with and empower local conservationists who have the knowledge, relationships, and cultural understanding needed to create lasting change.

They offer more than just funding. The Wildlife Conservation Network helps partners connect with supporters, write foundation grants, access scholarships for staff development, secure vital equipment such as solar power systems, and strengthen operations, allowing conservationists to focus on saving wildlife.

They also manage dedicated wildlife funds to channel resources where they are needed most, including:

  • Lion Recovery Fund – restoring lion populations and protecting habitats from poaching
  • Pangolin Crisis Fund – fighting trafficking and safeguarding the world’s most heavily trafficked mammal
  • Rhino Recovery Fund – preventing poaching and supporting rhino recovery
  • Sea Otter Fund – restoring marine habitats and protecting coastal wildlife
  • Elephant Crisis Fund – promoting human–elephant coexistence and protecting elephant landscapes
  • Painted Dog Fund – saving painted dogs from extinction

Beyond these funds, Wildlife Conservation Network collaborates with trusted local experts to protect an incredible variety of species across Africa, Asia, and the Americas, including elephants, Grevy’s zebras, snow leopards, cotton-top tamarins, Andean cats, okapis, and saiga antelopes.

The breadth of animals and habitats they support is unparalleled, ensuring that entire ecosystems, not just single species, benefit.

Wildlife Conservation Network’s reach is global, and their numbers speak for themselves:

  • Work in 69 countries to protect over 210 species
  • More than 50 countries where their wildlife funds have been invested
  • Over 1,060 wildlife funds and projects supported (and counting)
  • 1,015 acres of forest and farmland protected in Costa Rica
  • 521,700 people provided with conservation education

Every one of these numbers represents lives saved and species protected.

How Buddies for Paws Supports Wildlife Conservation Network

When you donate through Buddies for Paws, your contribution goes directly toward projects that:

  • Fund anti-poaching operations and emergency wildlife responses
  • Provide essential equipment, training, and long-term support for conservationists
  • Support wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and safe release into the wild
  • Back grassroots programmes that protect vulnerable habitats and species

Every donation made through Buddies for Paws is 100% matched by BONK, doubling your impact and helping conservationists reach more animals, protect more habitats, and educate more communities.

Why We’re Proud to Partner

Buddies for Paws partners with organisations that not only rescue and care for animals but also strive to make a lasting difference. Wildlife Conservation Network does exactly that by assisting conservationists with the resources they need while respecting local knowledge and communities.
