Buddies for Paws 2025 End-of-Year Wrap-Up

A year of friendship, fundraising, and making a difference together.

As 2025 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to look back on everything our Buddies helped make possible.

This year was full of growth, new friendships, and unforgettable moments. Most of all, it was powered by generosity, community, and a shared belief that anyone, anywhere, can be a buddy and help create meaningful change for animals around the world.

Together, the Buddies for Paws community raised almost $300,000 for animal welfare in 2025, with every donation matched 100% by BONK. Your generosity had an even greater impact.

A New Name, A New Look, Same Big Mission

We kicked off 2025 with a major milestone, rebranding from BONK for Paws to Buddies for Paws. The new name reflects our mission, because being a buddy is at the heart of everything we do, from our community and charity partners to the guardian animals we support.

With our new name came a fresh new look and a brand-new website, designed to make it easier to explore our work, donate, follow our impact, and learn more about the animals and charities we support.

This year also saw the launch of the Buddies for Paws blog, creating a dedicated space to share updates from our charity partners, follow the journeys of our guardian animals, and recap fundraising events throughout the year.

Throughout 2025, we introduced several new and exclusive merchandise moments and collaborations, giving Buddies even more ways to support animal welfare through our events. Highlights included BONK figurine blind boxes, exclusive T-shirts designed for Breakpoint and our London event, and NFC keychains linked to the guardian animal programme.

Global Events Making a Difference

May-Global Charity Walk

In May, we joined our buddies at Moonwalk for our first-ever Global Charity Walk as part of Accelerate. More than 1,000 participants worldwide walked together to support our charity partners, helping raise almost $64,000, including BONK’s 100% donation match. The event not only got our community moving, it also raised vital funds for animal welfare around the world.

June - Solana Solstice & NYC Fashion Show

In June, we returned to New York for Solana Solstice, joining forces with our buddies at MonkeDAO. Together, we took over the iconic New York Claw Machine Store, both virtually and in real life, for an evening of retro fun, exclusive prizes, and fundraising.

We also hosted our first-ever NYC Fashion Show, where our community didn’t just attend, they walked the runway. Guests donated, tried their luck at the Labubu stand, and shopped a range of exclusive merchandise, with all profits donated to Buddies for Paws and matched by BONK.

We were joined by representatives from Orangutan Outreach, Save the Chimps, and Wildlife Conservation Network, who shared how community donations directly support their work. Together, the event raised almost $30,000.

Solana Solstice also included a special auction featuring artwork created by Tonka, a chimpanzee in the care of Save the Chimps, alongside actor and activist Alan Cumming. The piece sold on Exchange Art for $1000, thanks for BONK's matched $2000 in proceeds went directly to the Save the Chimps sanctuary.

October - Zebu Live Afterparty, London

In October, we headed to London for the Zebu Live Afterparty and our second London-based fashion fundraiser. Once again, our community showed up for a fun-packed evening of networking, food, drink, and fundraising.

We were joined by our buddies from Orangutan Outreach and Wildlife SOS, who highlighted how donations support rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong sanctuary care. We also launched a special London Candy Machine, giving guests the chance to win exclusive merchandise and prizes. The evening raised almost $7,000.

December -Breakpoint Abu Dhabi & Community Partnerships

We closed out 2025 with an unforgettable December at Solana Breakpoint in Abu Dhabi, alongside our buddies at BONK and BaoBao.

Our Breakpoint journey began at the Opening Mixer with a unique BONK x BaoBao fashion show, where volunteers from our community took to the catwalk to model exclusive merchandise. The show closed with a surprise flash mob, setting the tone for the days ahead.

Over the following three days, we joined BONK on the Breakpoint stand, welcoming Buddies from across the Web3 ecosystem. Guests spun the Wheel of Fortune, shot hoops, won exclusive BONK merchandise, and learned more about how Buddies for Paws supports animal welfare worldwide.

Breakpoint also marked the launch of our BFP Buddy Keychains, allowing supporters to choose a guardian animal to support. Each donation came with a free limited-edition BONK figurine, and the response from the community was incredible. Thanks to the generosity of our Buddies and the BONK match, we raised almost $9,700 during Breakpoint.

Alongside Breakpoint, December also saw a special collaboration with BONK and Ledger, supporting a limited-edition Ledger release. 30% of proceeds from this collaboration will be donated to Buddies for Paws, extending our impact beyond events and into the wider Web3 community.

Together, these moments captured what Buddies for Paws is all about, showing how Web3 can be a powerful force for good.

Welcoming New Charity Buddies

In 2025, we expanded our global network of charity partners and proudly worked alongside new charity partners, including:

• Orangutan Outreach
• Dogs for Better Lives
• Dolphin Project
• Scottish SPCA

Together with our existing partners, they formed a collective of nine animal charities working across rescue, rehabilitation, conservation, and lifelong care.

Growing Our Guardian Animal Family

Alongside our charity partners, our guardian animal family also continued to grow, welcoming three new Buddies to the gang:

• Hero, a Golden Labrador currently part of the Dogs for Better Lives assistance dog training programme

• Buddy, an adult female leatherback turtle nesting in Panama, fitted with a satellite tag by Sea Turtle Conservancy

• Big Papa, a rescued orangutan now living peacefully on a protected forest island in Borneo under the lifelong care of Orangutan Outreach and the BOS Foundation

They join Dew the Moon Bear and Bani the Elephant, who continue to thrive thanks to the ongoing support of our community.

Every fundraiser, every event, and every Buddy who donated in 2025 helped support animal welfare organizations around the world, including:
